5, 4, 3, 2, 1....Blastoff!

For the past two weeks our classroom has been studying
SPACE! We enjoyed making rockets out of pringle cans,  making planets out of CDs, and rocket jet packs out of two-liter bottles!
Our students learned so much information...from naming all the eight planets in order to learning what it takes to become a real astronaut our children thought this unit was out of this world! We ended the unit with an astronaut dress up day and we even got an "official" call from NASA!
This unit was definitely out of this world!

We had our own planatarium in damatic play!

Celebrating Chinese New Year

Gung Hay Fat Choy! We celebrated
the Chinese New Year in our Classroom!
We made Chinese lanterns, practiced writing
our names in Chinese, and even had Chinese food for lunch! (And of course we
made them eat with chopsticks!)

Hibernating in the Classroom!

We ended our Winter Unit of Study by having a Hibernation Day in our classroom.  We have the students wear their pajamas, bring their flashlights, and teddy bears, and turn our classroom into a bear cave! We go on a bear hunt, read lots of good hibernation books, and enjoy bear activities at center time.

Brrr...It is Winter in our Classroom!

We are back from Christmas Break and the fun winter learning is happening in our classroom!  Snowflakes, ice, insta-snow, snowmen, just to name a few activities we have done in class.

The students can name the four seasons, tell you what precipitation is, and what type of precipitation falls at 32 degrees Fahrenheit!

At the sensory table we have penguins and ice, we are making igloos with sugar cubes, and in art we love making name snowmen and all different types of snowflakes.

At the writing table our students are writing their snowflake sightwords.

We are iceskating and shoveling snow in the dramatic play area.
We are building igloos with sugar cubes at Math.

And we have penguins floating on ice in the sesnsory table!
We are definitely having  fun learning in our classroom!

Happy Birthday!

It is time to celebrate in our classroom! Everyone knows their birthday in our class, so we have one big birthday party to celebrate.  We have balloons, cake, ice cream, and even a pinata! Everyone has their very own balloon with their birthday written on the balloon.  The students look for their balloon to take home with them! It is a fun, easy, and creative way to help your students learn their birthdays!
